We drink apple juice for breakfast, as an aperitif, as a food companion at lunch, and now even in the evening while celebrating. Yes, you read that correctly. Our apple juices have arrived in the restaurant world and are increasingly conquering the bars. In hip, urban metropolises, KOHL mountain apple juice is being mixed, shaken and stirred.
One of those doing so is Wolfgang Mayer, Bar and Lounge Manager at the Widder Bar of the eponymous hotel in Zurich. He presides over more than 1,000 spirited drops. Summer in a glass: the lightness of Japanese rice wine and elderflower.
Ingredients for 1 glass:
4 cl KOHL mountain apple juice & elderflower
4 cl Sake (junmai Ginjo)
1 cl elderflower liqueur
1 cl Roses Lime
GARNISH: cucumber zest, chocolate cubes
Preparation: Mix all ingredients in the shaker and pour into an ice-filled tumbler. Garnish with a cucumber zest and serve with chocolate cubes if desired. Description of the mixed drink: Fresh and mild, floral, fragrant and aromatic
